• General Category: Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years old as of August 1, 2023. This means candidates born between August 2, 1991, and August 1, 2002, are eligible.
• OBC (Other Backward Classes) Category: Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old as of August 1, 2023.
• SC/ST (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) Category: Candidates must be between 21 and 37 years old as of August 1, 2023.
• Physically Disabled (PwD) Category: Additional age relaxation of up to 10 years is provided for PwD candidates, irrespective of their category.

Candidates must possess at least one of the following educational qualifications:

• A degree from a recognized university or institution.
• Candidates in the final year of their degree program can also apply, provided they submit the required documents before the mains examination.

• Candidates who have completed the final year of the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) or ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) can also apply.
• Candidates with an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of India are eligible.

**4. Number of Attempts:

• General Category: Candidates can attempt the UPSC Civil Services Examination a maximum of six times, provided they meet the age criteria.
• OBC Category: OBC candidates can attempt the examination up to nine times.
• SC/ST Category: There is no restriction on the number of attempts for SC/ST candidates until they reach the maximum age limit.
